The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has planned to start work on any of the three connectivity corridors, Metro Lite, Metro Neo, and Metro Express, to link Jewar Airport with other parts of NCR.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has decided to improve connectivity between the Jewar Airport near Greater Noida and the other parts of the National Capital Region (NCR). Currently, metro connectivity already exists till Knowledge Park 2. However, to connect the last leg to the airport, DMRC would construct another metro corridor, but only six stations will be planned on the stretch.
The metro authority will draft a new report after the one developed in 2019 was rejected on the grounds of excess travel time. The latest report will also incorporate details related to the development costs of proposed projects such as Metro Lite, Metro Neo, and Metro Express.
Meanwhile, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has also planned to provide multi-modal connectivity in the region via the metro link before the commencement of the Jewar International Airport. The elevated part of the metro link would run parallel to the stretch, and the one diverting from Greater Noida would be underground. The metro line would be integrated into the terminal building of the airport and would reduce the travel time between Greater Noida and the Jewar Airport to 20-25 minutes.
